Embracing our Changing Community is the annual conference of the Intercultural Advocacy Institute – Hispanic Leadership Council, which attracted over 350 people last year. This year our conference theme is “The Power of Words.” 2023 Conference Agenda Our focus for this year’s conference is The Power of Words. Have you ever thought about the power of words…your words? Words have the power to build up or tear down, to motivate someone to achieve great things or shut someone down. Words can unite us or divide us. Have you ever been impacted by a word, either positively or negatively, to the point that it changed your path? The Power of Words is geared to help you better understand how your words affect people and how words affect you. The way you use words can include or exclude others. Words can build an engaged and empowered community. Our goal is to highlight the relationship the power that words have on us, and how this in turn impacts the issues of diversity, equity and inclusion.
